WALKING FOR FITNESS - Mondays at 10 am

Join a fun, new group fitness activity that meets every Monday at 10 am. Weekly program features a 45-minute low-impact walking workout (streamed on video). Ideal for beginning fitness levels. ADULT CHAIR YOGA - Mondays at 11 am 

Join us for some introductory chair yoga! We will be streaming videos of chair yoga workouts. Hosted by Sandra Michelsen, who conducts our meditation and wellness classes. Participants are encouraged to bring towels and water bottles. RSVP on the homepage of this website, under Event Registration.

MATINEE MONDAYS

WINTER T'AI CHIH CHIH - Tuesdays through March 12

Accredited instructor Lee Bergman returns for fall T'ai Chi Chih, an exercise of slow and gentle movements based on ancient wellness principles of the Far East! Potential benefits include stress/tension reduction, better balance, muscle/joint toning, improved circulation and flexibility, and overall sense of wellness.
BEGINNING STUDENTS: 9:30-10:15 am
CONTINUING STUDENTS: 10:30-11:15 am

Make-up day (if needed) will be on Tuesday, March 19.  Cost is $70 for all 10 classes. This is not a library program (although 15% of the proceeds are donated to the library), so for more information or to sign up, please contact Lee Bergman directly at leebergman7@hotmail.com.

ARTWORK BY CRISTINA PALERMO-HAVENS AND MARCIA SANGILLO
On Display through Friday, February 1


Joint art show featuring various oil paintings by Cristina Palermo-Havens from North Caldwell and Marcia Sangillo from Fairfield will be on exhibit in our Community Room. Meet the artists and learn more about what motivates them to create during a special opening  reception on Saturday, January 12, from 2 to 4 pm. Light refreshments will be served. WEDNESDAY NITE BOOKWORMS - Wednesday, January 23, at 7 pm

Our library book club, Wednesday Nite Bookworms, will meet to discus the Fiona Davis novel, The Address , which gives us an exclusive look within Manhattan's most famous residence, The Dakota, and all the love, loss, passion, success, and downright madness its walls would attest to if they could.

ESSENTIAL OILS WORKSHOP: PHYSICAL HEALTH & FITNESS

Geeta Lahiri returns with another essential oils workshop, this time the focus is on physical fitness. Participants will learn how to make their own pre-workout roller, muscle and joint cream, and a yoga mat spray. RSVP on our website.

ELDERCARE PRESENTATION - Thursday, January 31, at 7 pm

  As parents age, their adult children are sometimes thrust into the uncharted territory of eldercare, and it can be overwhelming. Vicki Stout, a real estate specialist for senior citizens, and Eric Moore, an eldercare advisor, will give a detailed presentation on housing and care options for the elderly. The following issues will be addressed:

  • Is living at home causing you stress and concern?
  • Is the living situation of your loved one causing you concern?
  • Are you spending a greater amount of your time as a caregiver?
  • Know the options for “aging in place” at home.
  • Understand the differences between assisted living, memory care, skilled nursing, and independent living communities, along with their estimated costs.
  • Do you know which resources are available to help with planning and decisions?

L ibrary assistant Zac Cascio will be available to show you the basics of Microsoft Word, Excel, and other tech resources any Monday or Friday from 9 am to noon. Learn how to safely and effectively navigate social media; create resume templates, letters, and spreadsheets; utilize valuable cell phone, iPad, and Kindle features, such as calendars and more. AUTHOR VISIT: DR. BARBARA TUCCIARONE - RESCHEDULED
NEW DATE: Tuesday, March 19, at 7 pm

Relationship expert Dr. Barbara Tucciarone will visit the library to discuss Before You Love Again , her book on relationships - overcoming the heartbreak of a breakup and the ensuing feelings of emptiness, breaking patterns of unhealthy relationships, cultivating a healing and forward-moving mindset, and more.
